An Open Letter to Donald Trump

Know that there are millions of people like me who see you as the Desecrator-in-Chief. By that I mean one who defiles what he touches in word or in deed. One who shows no ability to discern, or to interpret anything with nuance or an overview. One who does everything with an exaggerated flourish, armed literally with a sharpie or the biggest spiked bully club you can find. You think the gesture proves the might of the man. How empty that is. How deluded you are by your own lying whitewash and hate-filled rhetoric.

And your minions … even when I try to give them the benefit of the doubt, it seems the majority of them behave like lemmings. By that I mean they appear mindless, empty vessels, just parroting your words without any capacity for thinking or able to separate the wheat from the chaff. That makes them appear uneducated or under-motivated to learn. They lack self-reliance which surely could be because they weren’t nurtured or mentored in such a way that built their sense-of-self or stability. More likely they were marred by childhood neglect/abuse/bullying. They see you as their lodestar which appears to be just what you want. This resulting symbiotic relationship, reinforced by your constant tweets of also being wronged, has precluded their seeing that it is you who is actually perpetuating their being victimized. Think peddling phony university degrees or professed devotion to the bible — Don’t forget to buy one! — or purveyor of wine, gaudy sneakers and now crypto. Think of you constantly hounding your followers to donate to you over and over again. They seem not to be able to actualize their own aspirations and to feel helpless to meet their own needs. They bond over simmering or overt rage to whomever makes the rules. They seek something they see as more powerful (drugs/guns/you). You shout louder, belittle people who impose orders, smash more and successfully weasel out of everything. They hope that will rub off on them or they can play in your mudhole and lob handfuls and feel a sense of community. You make a mockery of their allegiance. You and they seem mutually blinded by artifice - the gilt of your veneer or ensconcing yourself in our flag.

You think you come across as a swashbuckler but instead come across as someone who never matured. You denigrate war heroes yet pled being a victim of bone spurs to evade the draft. You belittle and mock people you incidentally feel threatened by as a way to induce others to jeer and shun them, just as an incorrigible bratty child might. You don’t cite facts because you don’t know facts so you just proclaim conclusions. That tells your minions and Republican legislators what you want them to do and think. Neither they nor you gain any insight or knowledge or inductive reasoning skills. You share a mutual conclusion without anyone gaining wisdom.

You pound your chest and snap your fingers and single-handedly pull our nation out of the Paris Climate Accord. Just wantonly plundering this beautiful bountiful earth which you profess God created. Guess that makes you even more powerful than God. But it only makes you a real life Darth Vader.

You don’t seem to learn from history or experience. I hate to tell you this, but you are more likely to be called a buffoon than presidential.

I see you.

You just keep going around huffing and puffing.

I’ll just keep being your nemesis.
